In the world of gaming, there is only one true battlefield, and that is Battlefield. This series has gained popularity and a reputation as a strategic and realistic war game over the years, more than any other first-person shooter game. This year the Battlefield game returns and tries to overcome the negative aspects of the fourth part, which followed long after and required a whole year of improvements and reforms. This time we go back to the beginning, it’s World War I and since the game’s first reveal everyone has been looking forward to the anticipated release and it promises to be the biggest Battlefield ever.

Painful Stories There is no doubt that war is full of suffering. Nobody waits for it, and when it happens, everyone hopes it ends. This time the DICE team presented a single-player game mode based on excerpts from the lives of some soldiers in the First World War. With each character you get a different perspective on the war and experience part of it through its atmosphere. Sometimes you find yourself with the infantry in the midst of chaos, other times you are flying in the air supporting the soldiers on the battlefield ground, and other times you are in the middle of a tank charging the armies with the power of its cannons. And along the way, you will experience some short stories that will explain to you how painful the war was and not at all enjoyable, especially when you have death in front of you. Perhaps one of the most entertaining parts of Story Mode is the situations where you can spy on and eliminate enemies. These were very similar to Metal Gear 5, but without all of the wonderful tools that Snake has. The story mode is short and perhaps not as satisfying as the single-player mode in a first-person shooter game, but as an addition and a side flavor to a game that is primarily a group game, it is very entertaining.

War is a group game and the multiplayer mode will definitely take the lion’s share in this review. Battlefield always differs from other shooting games, especially military ones, because it depends on the emergence of team spirit, cooperation and complete coordination in the execution of tasks, especially when there is a large area on the game map. Of course, different roles can be played across classes, such as squad leader, medic or sniper. Each role has special advantages. For example, a scout can set intelligent traps, such as a trap that acts as a decoy and will reveal his presence if an enemy shoots at it. The maps are generally smaller than the fourth part, and the reason may be that the dependence on pedestrians in this part is greater than the previous part.

Vehicles are definitely an essential part of Battlefield games and they have a strong presence in this part too. In general, the number of vehicles is lower than in the past, perhaps due to the decline in technology and the lack of rocket launchers in the hands of infantry soldiers. But there are also new vehicles, such as the horse, which is one of the most entertaining things in the game, especially when you run on the horse and kill your enemies with the sword from above. One of the innovations is the ability to repair the vehicle both inside and outside. However, with a tank, for example, you have to stop completely so that you can repair even if you’re inside, but the plane can move while it’s being repaired but won’t start.

The Killer Pigeon There are several new fun game modes, such as War Pigeons mode, in which you have to protect a pigeon until you write a message and spread it in it, and the waiting takes place at a special switch. When the count is complete, the pigeon can be sent, requesting an enemy artillery attack. The usual modes like Rush and Conquest are back, and this time a new mode called Operations is introduced that combines them in a smart way. In this phase the game takes place on several maps. The attackers control all areas until they reach the final area, while the defense must kill a sufficient number of attackers for the attack to fail. If the attackers fail, they generally have 3 attempts and for each failure they get the Behemoth next time!

What is the Behemoth? In short, it is a vehicle with enormous power, capable of inflicting great damage on the ranks of enemies. Like a large aircraft that can drop devastating bombs. The goal of the Behemoth is to provide some balance in the game between the two teams, and although it gives power to the team that owns it, it brings joy and a great sense of satisfaction to the opposing team when managed . In addition to being available in Operation Mode, the Behemoth also appears in Conquest Mode when one team is far ahead of the other.
