Destroy All Humans Remaster: A Blast from the Past
Destroy all humans! It is a remake of the original game that was released on the PlayStation 2 in 2005. 60 developers from Black Forest Games worked on the improved version. The remake features improved graphics with some simple gameplay additions and maintains the spirit of the original game by using the same audio recordings for dialogue.
The story revolves around an evil alien creature called Crypto-137 who invades Earth and attempts to collect human genes to maintain cloning continuity for their alien race. Crypto is the 137th copy, and any increase in the number of copies affects the quality of the copy! That’s why they want ancient and pure genes… and humans, because they are primitive (according to the aliens), have the necessary genes. The mission is to eliminate all humans and take the genes. The story is told in a comedic, sarcastic tone.
Exciting Gameplay and Unique Weapons
The play style is in the third perspective and Crypto has three main weapons: his basic pistol, his psychological powers and the flying saucer, and each weapon has upgrade points. For example, the pistol can be enhanced by electrical energy, or transforms into a grenade launcher, allowing you to use psychological energy to pick up enemies and throw them. Throw them away or throw them like a bowling ball at the rest of the enemies and you can blow their brains out. As for the space dish, already laser beams that can easily burn and eliminate enemies and dodge missiles. The enemies appear gradually, similar to the GTA series, and each time stronger enemies appear… ranging from farmers and police officers to army forces.
Each stage in the game is relatively large to use the space saucer weapon, destroy buildings and complete side missions. There are many areas to visit, but most stages are similar. At first I liked the game, especially when it involved using psychic powers, but after a while I got bored due to the poor side missions and primitive gameplay that had the feel of average shooting games of the PlayStation 2 generation.
Impressive Graphics and Audio
The game was built from scratch on the UE4 engine. The graphics and details are good, maybe not the best currently available, but they are enough for the purpose, especially since it is a developed game. However, the artistic direction of the human figures is very ugly and their shapes are strange. There are a number of beautiful melodies in the game and the voice dialogues are the same as in the original game, with improved quality, and it was a successful choice.
It is strange that the game provides a full Arabic translation of the dialogues and menus, and their quality is excellent, especially since the game is not that popular, and the studio is thanked for adding the translation. The approximate playing time is 7 hours.
