Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

We’ve known for quite some time that EA was working on an action-adventure game in the famous Star Wars universe, and then we learned that the team behind this project would be Respawn Entertainment, the same wonderful team that brought us Titanfall and APEX Legends brought. But will a team specializing in first-person games be able to implement this project, which is different from their previous experiences? The excitement really started at the last E3 trade show when we got the rare opportunity to try out the game. The ceiling of our ambition was set high, but was the team actually able to live up to it? Today the speculation is over and we bring you our full review of the game.

War of Stars

Typically, games based on certain commercial rights discourage some players because they believe that they need to have extensive knowledge of, for example, the events in the films in order to enjoy the game. Let’s put an end to this belief at least here. This game actually presents a story from the Star Wars universe, but that is not an obstacle to the fun of the game. A minimum of information about the Star Wars universe will be enough for you.

The game represents the world of Star Wars in the most beautiful way. It is truly a very rich cinematic experience. There is an interesting story and a group of characters who master their roles and were played by a group of Hollywood stars. The game will present many familiar scenes and areas and offers a very high production value on a technical level. More than once while playing, I stopped to just look at the landscape around me. Of course, with everything that was presented, some technical problems were not missing, as I observed the textures in the game appearing in front of me more than once while playing on the PS4 Pro.

Let the Adventure Begin

This game is a very entertaining adventure, it is not a pure action game, it is a package of the most beautiful elements of the gaming world in one place. The game requires you to explore very exciting worlds, and to achieve this the game introduces the platforming element very well. It’s definitely not Mario, but it is the most streamlined action game in terms of platforming elements. You will have a wonderful feeling of freedom, as if you can achieve anything. This is all thanks to the control functions. They can climb, slide, swim, run along walls and much more.

The game reinforces the element of exploration by presenting a Metroidvania-style world where, after acquiring new skills, you return to previous areas to explore new locations. The game stimulates this by giving out lots of important skill development items and also some secrets. The development team has put a lot of effort into improving the gaming experience for the player. For example, it has provided an excellent map where the high and low levels are easy to see. You can also know the paths available to you and the locked doors you need to return to later. You will also learn what percentage you have explored in each area and how many secrets and chests you have not yet explored at this point.

You are the True Jedi

The adventure element in the game really shines, but the action and combat element cannot be ignored. The game contains a wonderful combat system based on the style of the famous Dark Souls game series. But that’s not all, as the game adds many of its own influential touches. Perhaps most notable is the ability to use the Force, which allows the hero to pull enemies toward him or push him away from him. This will play an important role in the fight. This game is different from the Souls games where there is a limited number of enemies in front of you. Here you will be faced with a large number of enemies, some of which are far from your immediate reach, such as a soldier shooting at you from an upper floor or a flying robot shooting at you from above. Air, this is where the excitement in the game increases and you have to react quickly and be aware of what is happening around you.

The game system here will be very varied. You can dodge and hit enemies, and there is no fitness meter to hit. But there is a counter-counter that, similar to Sekiro, allows you to destroy enemies’ counters and open the door to hit them painfully. The game has a development tree through which you can learn many new moves that will diversify your style of fighting and ideas for confronting enemies. One of my best shots is taking an enemy to the edge of the abyss and then using my superpowers to throw them off. There’s one simple thing that bothered me in some situations: fighting in close quarters caused the camera angle to change in an annoying and sometimes obstructive way.

The game also features a similar system to Bonfire from the Souls series. There are specific spots on the map where you can save your game and also develop your skills, and these are very well and logically spaced. You can rest at these points. When you do this, your healing tools will refill and any enemies you defeated in this area will also respawn. So think carefully before doing this.

The beauty of the game is that it offers you 4 difficulty levels, and the best part is that it explains to you what can actually change when you switch between them. The difficulty level is determined by several factors, including, for example, the hostility of the enemies and the frequency of their attacks on you, as well as the strength of the enemies’ attacks and their effect on you. You can also choose the level of difficulty in the middle of the game. So if you encounter a difficult enemy and want to progress in the story, you can lower the difficulty and then increase it again. This is a very positive thing as the game doesn’t just focus on combat but is more of a game of wandering and exploration. The game also contains some deep puzzles that I really enjoyed thinking about solving.

What a Journey

I have to give a lot of credit to the Respawn team for this great work. Yes, we know they’ve been creative since Tatin Fall, and they’ve repeated that with Epic Legend. But this game was unlike anything they had done before, and yet they were able to rise to the challenge again and deliver work that really speaks for itself.

Jedi Fallen Order is a wonderful package of elements that made us love many action and adventure games, brilliantly presented in a wonderful cinematic template that made us, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful experiences of the year. If you are a fan of Star Wars, this game is like a dream come true for you, and if you are a fan of action and adventure, you don’t have to think much because this is an experience that will take you into a world very pleasant The atmosphere.
