Who among us doesn’t know the cycling game Trials in crazy environments, one of the best download games of recent years! Well, what do you expect when Ubisoft proposes the idea of ​​merging the two games into one game and releases it in a surprise way after this year’s E3 exhibition! The answer to this question is short: catastrophe! We will discuss this in the following lines.

You control two brothers through 27 different levels in the 80s world and in different regions, be it in Vietnam, in enemy camps or even in some factories. The game presents its story through cartoon clips with a distinctive classic character of the eighties generation to match the story, and with around 27 different missions, it will take you around two to ten minutes to complete a mission. You will find that you are faced with a rather short experience.

The game tries hard to add humor here and there to its story and dialogues, but it doesn’t succeed, but it does manage to brilliantly portray the elements and graphics of the eighties generation.

Once you start experiencing the game, you will be shocked by the new ideas incorporated into the game. Once you complete one of the most entertaining missions on a bike, as is always the case in the Trials series, you will be surprised that you have to complete the next mission on foot and on your feet, only in shooting missions in a two-dimensional world, in which lacks any creativity. The stages are devoid of creativity. It’s not fun to remember, and fighting enemies is nothing more than a race to see whoever hits the other early. You will hope that this stage ends quickly so that your suffering ends and you can ride your bike again. However, this will not happen. The game will not be satisfied with this amount of surprises, instead you will find more imperfect tasks. Sometimes you find yourself on a mission. 2D stealth, trying to avoid laser beams, and sometimes you find yourself on a mission. All you have to do is jump, very simple platform game without any ideas, with poor jumping mechanics that will give you a bitter experience!

But does that mean all phases are bad? Not at all. You will find many fun stages, especially those where you drive various vehicles including bikes, huge trucks or even coal trucks in caves. These stages will give you the best possible experience until you finish them and find yourself going back to platforming or infiltration missions!

Well, as we’ve come to expect from the Trials series, you have a timer to complete the tasks as quickly as possible to earn points and receive an alphabetical rating that indicates your level. You can see and repeat the results of others in the same task. The task is to set the best time and climb to the top of the general leaderboard, but that’s all you can do over the network. There are no direct challenge modes over the network, no competitive racing at all, and not even options for designing levels and uploading them to the network. The game only presents itself as a single player game, but I was hoping to add a few challenges to extend the life of the game and make it a haven to escape some of the bad story missions, but that didn’t happen.

What’s funny is that the game’s two most beautiful levels aren’t included. Instead, you have to buy them from the Ubisoft Club Store by spending some points collected in other Ubisoft games. Well, let’s praise the design of the driving and cycling stages. The stages have been designed to the highest standards and that is what sets them apart. A range of trails over the years with excellent physics, crazy roads and big, impressive explosions.
